T. Seals, owner of Body Decor Boutique is an amazing woman that I had the privilege of meeting at a Naturals In The City Event in Memphis, TN. I love to meet women that are passionate about other women succeeding. She is all for women empowerment, which is hard to find these days in a world of people that are only out for themselves. She is an phenomenal fashionista, that sells very fashionable items that will keep you looking good, for a very reasonable price.
Her traveling boutique was establish in 2008 in Atlanta, GA. There are currently 2 locations: Atlanta, GA (private sector only) and Online. She also provides traveling boutique services for Girls Night Out, several events, and many more! She truly believes in decorating the body!

VR: How did the idea of Body Décor Boutique come about?
T. Seals: I have been interested in fashion since I was a toddler. My mother and granny would always take me shopping and once I made it home with all of my goodies, I would model and pose!
I even graduated from John Casablanca Modeling and Acting Career Center in Memphis, TN. I was the face of several commercials and billboards throughout the Mid-South. With all of the interaction in the fashion industry, mixed with my love for fashion, today you have Body Décor Boutique!
VR: Your sizes range from 0 – 3X, how important was it for you to accommodate most body types?
T. Seals: It was imperative that I provided sizes ranging from 0 to 3X in order to accommodate most body types because I feel every woman should be comfortable in their body decor and love the skin they are in. Some body types are not often accommodated and I don’t think it is fair to discriminate. I want to empower, uplift, and provide couture garments for EVERY woman.
VR: Your pieces are so full of bright colors and various prints, what is the process of deciding which items to sell in your boutique?
T. Seals: Lol! Thanks VaShaunna for that compliment! I love color and try to provide garments of color and unique patterns because some women are only comfortable with what I call “safe colors”. There are so many other colors on the color wheel other than brown, black, white, gray and cream. BORING! I like to jazz it up a bit and be daring….and it is so much fun converting my “safe color” clients. Before you know it, they are embracing the ENTIRE color wheel and turn into a complete Body Decorator!
VR: Is there an item of clothing in your closet that you cannot live with out?
T. Seals: Absolutely not! I am always cleaning my closet out and changing the atmosphere. I am not overly infatuated with any piece in particular. At any moment, I will ship it off to a new home. My husband gets a kick out of my closet makeovers! Fun times for sure!!!! LOL!
VR: What are your personal favorite stores to shop in and why?
T. Seals: Umm….this is a good one Vashaunna! I would have to say The Nine Streets Shops in Amsterdam, Barney’s New York, and any vintage/eclectic boutique! Why? Because these are the places you get the FIRECE garments and accessories from! No doubt about it!
VR: Name your top 3 most fashionable celebrities?
T. Seals: Another hard question, but I think I can manage 3! You are killing me softly! Ok..here goes! Eva Marcille, Heidi Klum, and Melanie Fiona. There…its over! LOL!
VR: You started this company in 2008, where do you see Body Décor Boutique in 2018?
T. Seals: The goals that I have for Body Décor Boutique is to continue to empower women by expanding into even more markets (in the private and public sectors). The online boutique will continue to get a face-lift as often as necessary to keep things energetic, upbeat, and unique while offering the latest technology. I want to continue providing women all over the world with sizes 0 to 3X with superb customer service, exciting and memorable boutique experiences and most of all…. exclusive, celebrity inspired, funky one-of-a kind, ECLECTIC fashions. I simply love my clients and what I do!
VR: I’m sure you have gained tons of great advice along this journey, what advice would you give someone looking to step out of their comfort zone and start their own boutique?
T. Seals: The best advice I could give anyone that is looking to step out of their comfort zone and start his or her own boutique is to focus on the positive, be confident in your work and do what you want to do….ALWAYS! This way if it doesn’t work out, you did exactly what you wanted to do…which is MOST important anyway because it is a MUST to be in your HAPPY place! Do not listen to the naysayers and non-supporters. BE PATIENT! Things will not always happen when you want them to, but when they do…BOOM!!!! You will be like, okay is this what I was praying so hard for? LOL! Don’t be hard on yourself….do something you LOVE doing and you will never WORK a day in your life!
